In Chapter 8 of the scripture Bhagavad Gita, Arjun is a man representing the consciousness of the body, or the ego-intellect—the knowledge of the senses and body, as well as the knowledge of all kinds of forms perceived through the medium of the eyes and varieties of sounds heard by the ears. Arjun is a fully developed person who has read all kinds of scriptures. He has learned the science of archery and become a brave archer. He is matured in age and has been able to look after his own body and those of his relations.
